Relating to Easter!

Hello guys!! ๐Ÿ™‚

So, as most of you will know, this weekend is Easter! I know some people don’t celebrate it, but I just thought that I would research some things and find out why bunnies, eggs and more are related to Easter!

For Catholics, Easter is in celebration the resurrection of Christ. But then why do chickens, bunnies, hot cross buns and chocolate eggs come in to it?

Hot Cross Buns

It is traditional to eat warm hot cross buns on Good Friday. Hot Cross Buns with their combination of spicy, sweet and fruity flavours have long been an Easter tradition, with the pastry cross on top of theย buns symbolising and reminding Christians of the cross that Jesus was killed on.

Easter Bunny

Rabbits have been associated with springtime since ancient times. It is believed that the Anglo-Saxon Goddess of Spring, Eostre had a hare as her companion. The hare symbolises fertility and rebirth. Later Christians changed the symbol of the hare to the Easter bunny.cute-bunny-image-wallpaper

Eggs

The egg, an ancient symbol of new life, has been associated with pagan festivals celebrating spring. From a Christian perspective, Easter eggs are said to represent Jesus’ ย  emergence from the tomb and resurrection.download (39)

Chicks

Chicks are an Easter icon because they representย new life. When Jesus was Crucified on the cross, he rose again and so the baby chicken is also representing that.

So I hope you guys have learnt a little bit about Easter and if you celebrate it, I hope you have an amazing weekend and get heaps of chocolate!! haha! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜€

January Favourites

Hey guys! ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ™‚ XD

So I am going to do my monthly favourites – I probably won’t do them every month but I will try as hard as I can!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have many things I used in January that I enjoy, but I narrowed it down to my top 5 items. So in no particular order, here you go!

1. Kikki K gift wrap

giftwrap

The gift wrap is also double sided so you can use either side!

I have used the gift wrap from Kikki K to cover my school books this year and it has workedย so well, and my books look great! It also helped that at the time there was a 3 for 2 offer going on at the store, so I managed to cover all my books in various types of this wonderful gift wrap.

2. Girl Online

zoeeeI read this book over the summer holidays and it was AMAZING! So amazing, I could not put it down. I loved it because it resembles me so much and it’s by my favourite youtuber, Zoella.

This book is about a girl called Penny, who lives in Brighton. Then one day her family decides to go over to New York for Christmas, where she meets “Brooklyn Boy”. I don’t want to spoil to much, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who suffers with anxiety or is looking for a new book to read. ๐Ÿ™‚

3. Girl Online On Tour

Yes, I know you’re all thinking, “She just put Girl Online on the list, why now put on Girl zoellabookyayOnline On Tour?” But I promise you, these books are THE BEST. Girl Online On Tour is the sequel of Girl Online and these two books are literally the best books I’ve ever read. If you don’t know who Zoe Sugg, or “Zoella”, as the people of the internet call her, here is the link to her blog:ย https://www.zoella.co.uk/ย  ๐Ÿ™‚ and here is the link to her youtube channel:ย Zoella’s Youtube Channel ๐Ÿ™‚ย she is amazing!

4. Miki Ice Block Lip Balms

images (51)I’m not entirely sure what these are actually called, but they are little ice block lip balms from the Australian brand, Miki. They come in an adorable four pack with the flavours: Strawberry, Mellon, Pineapple and Watermelon. They smell very nice, fell great on your lips and are really cute too! Here is the link to the miki website:ย http://www.mikicosmetics.com/

5. Tangle Teezer

Okay, I have had this for over a year now, but my hair is getting longer and longer and if images (52)you are a girl, you will know how frustrating hair brushes can be at times! My Tangle Teezer makes life so much easier, and I know for some people they aren’t as good, I guess it depends what type of hair you have. But my tangle teaser is brilliant, and I would definitely give it a 10 out of 10! If you would like to check them out, clickย hereย ๐Ÿ™‚

I have also narrowed all my favourite songs for January down to my top five, so here they are:

  1. Flashlight – Jessie J (or Pitch Perfect 2)Music Doodle
  2. Can’t love me like you – Little Mix
  3. Stitches – Sean Mendes
  4. Better When I’m Dancing – Meghan Trainor
  5. Lush Life – Zara Larsson
